I'm Ancient

Guess who turned 30 on June 8th? I was hoping for another one of these fine machines, just like on my 8th birthday, but I think they cost like a million dollars nowadays.

Oh, that is just so classic. What a photo.

My dad's still got one like that sitting in his garage -- one year older, I think. We're thinking of fixing it up for the girls.

Let me guess, that thing would turn over in no more than 3 stomps on the kick starter.

Your girls can learn to launch that thing off the dirt jumps you built on Giant's head.

Note the tucked-in shirt, and the pants up to the middle of my back.

Oh yeah, it starts perfectly...just needs a new muffler and a tuneup, and the girls could probably thrash it for years without mechanical issues.

I still say that in another life, I would drive around the prairies with big box van, collecting z50s, XR80s and other similar trail bikes from the '80s, then fix them up and sell them on eBay for a fortune. It would be fun.

Happy belated birthday greg. Thank you for turning 30 at the same time as me because i thought you were younger than me and now i feel less old and decrepid somehow.
Nice thing is, when you ask anyone in their 40's or 50's and up if 30 still seems young they will without hesitating blurt out "YESSSS!!".

Thanks for the belated wish Ang (but how could it not be belated with my posts running almost 2 months behind)

30's not so bad, it just seems like there was this big gap in the 20's though, where the years blended into each other. Could have been those 5 years I turned into a hermit and got lost in University.

Hey Heather, yeah thanks. We figured our lives were a little too predictable right now, (ha ha), so we decided to ramp up the craziness a notch.

Nice! That's what I like to hear. Sorry I'm posting this as a comment, but I don't have your email. Just wanted to know how Sophie is feeling.

This came up last night, as a bunch of us were sitting around at the local Mongolian buffet. Greg leads the most interesting life of all of us, travelling to all points of the world, yet the updates are seasonal at best. Get off your ass and start typing. Or would that be get on your ass?

Fair enough, I'll try having another go at this. I did get ADSL on site here in Perth, so that should motivate me a bit.

Thanks for the comments nonetheless...I was surprised to find out that anyone even checked this site anymore. So...yes, to the male plett not married to Ang, I will try to spend some time on my ass typing again.
